Passion

I have written several times about Cameron's passions...and yet another one has struck!

First, let me explain a little about Cameron's personality.  When Cameron is "into" something, he is consumed by it.  It is what he talks about, plays, and thinks about all day long until a new phase comes into his life.

Right now Cameron's new passion is American Idol.  We decided to watch this season as a family and have really enjoyed the time we dedicate to all sit down together.  (We record and watch it at our leisure.)  So now Cameron plays American Idol with his stuffed animals, walks around the house with comments like "you're going to Hollywood baby," and listens to the music A LOT.  Eric downloaded the music on our ipad and Cameron has been carry the ipad around with him listening to the music over and over and over again!  His favorite singer is James Durbin and yesterday he even wore some bracelets around his wrist in an attempt to look like James!

I love the passion Cameron has!

I should also say that Cade thoroughly enjoys American Idol too.  I am amazed at how many of the lyrics Cade can sing when the music is playing!  Cade also likes to "perform" for us during the show!  I think this new love of music (which was the reason Eric and I decided to watch American Idol as a family) is going to be a great idea for Cade's upcoming birthday!  (Yes, my baby is going to be five in less that two weeks!  I am having a difficult time with this, but I will dwell more on that sad story later.)

Generosity

At a local restaurant tonight Cade and I were standing at the aquarium admiring the fish when a complete stranger walked up and began talking to Cade about school and being kind to others.  At the end of the conversation the man pulled a $2 bill out of his wallet and rewarded Cade with it for being a kind boy.  Wow, that was so generous!

I later noticed this man quietly eating dinner alone in the corner of the restaurant.  I had planned on stopping by his table at the end of our meal to thank him again.

However, before our meal time ended, the man appeared at a table and pulled up a chair from a near-by table and began asking with Cameron about working hard in school and treating others the way you want to be treated.  And once again the man reached for his wallet (apologized for not having anymore $2 bills) and preceded to give Cameron a Canadian $5 bill!  This man really impressed our boys with the money, but had a great message to share with them!

What a great lesson for my boys!  Thanks, sir!

Oh My!

I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged!  I think this is the longest stretch I have missed posting something since I started blogging.  I almost feel like I have let my family down by not keeping up with our "family journal."

Life has been very busy the past several months.  Our family participated in a Small Group on Monday evenings, Cameron had basketball practices on Thursday nights, basketball games came on Saturday, and then church each Sunday.  I am president of my local Tri Kappa chapter so that creates meetings too.  Those are just the regularly scheduled events, but of course other events pop up as well.  Now that we are 30 minutes from the location of these events they actually are more of an event.  I feel like down time comes few and far between.

March, however, is a much slower much for me and the kids (Eric's schedule continues to be busy.).  With spring coming and spring break around the corner, I hope to have a few photo ops and post some pictures of my growing boys!
